To all you excited 1st time Artstick-ers:
Have no fear, here are some tips and tricks to get your stickers on!
Soon, you'll be off and Artstick'n...and coming back for more!
What you need to apply a wall-sticker?
Some simple stuff, you'll have for sure on your home:
- A pair of scissors
- A pencil
- Some paper tape
- A plastic card or a spatula (a credit card will be perfect)
- Un ruler (but not necessarily you will use it)
- Somebody helping you if the sticker is very large
so let's start....
Once extracted from the box and laid out on a flat surface, you will see that the sticker is composed of three layers:
Paper (on which the sticker is attached), the vinyl stickerand the Application Tape (matt paper allover).

Photos on the shop and gallery, suggests how you can apply the stickers, but if a sticker is made up of several parts, you'll need your imagination to place them on the chosen surface :)
You need to separate with scissors the stickers from the sheet that will be provided, taking care to not separate the three parts (paper, sticker, application-tape) until the final application.

Bubbles and folds on application tape doesn't harm the vinyl sticker below.
Just firmly rub or squeege over the backing with a credit card, your hands, a rubber spatuale, etc...
1. Prep Your Surface.
In order to stick, you need a smooth, dry and clean surface. To ensure such cleanliness, grab a cloth and give your surface a quick wipe down.
2. Plan Your DesignTo avoid designer's remorse. Tape your decals onto your surface before removing the backing. If you like what you see, then go for the gold.
3. Firmly Squeegee Over Entire Backing. Now it's time to shift the weight of your decal to the transfer tape. To do so, lay your stick on a flat surface, graphic side down. Firmly rub or squeegee over the entire backing with a credit card, your hand, a rubber spatula, etc...
4. Remove Paper Backing. Start at one corner and slowly peel away with a rolling action.
* Some intricate patterns may want to stick to backing – simply stop peeling, roll back a bit and re-press decal onto transfer tape.
5. Stick and Smooth it. Ok, now stick top two corners of the transfer tape to your desired surface. Smooth it down starting from the center and move outward to avoid air bubbles and wrinkles; press and rub firmly as you go.
* Ask for another hand if the image is bigger than you can handle.
6. Remove Transfer Tape. Now that you've applied your graphic, it's time to remove the tape. Start at one corner & slowly roll it along the surface. ( If any part of the decal sticks to the tape, simply stop pulling, roll back a bit & re-press graphic onto your surface and continue peeling away, slowly.
7. Tadamm!!You may just have to call yourself an artiste from now on.
*Bubbling may occur after graphics are applied. Using a thumbtack or needle, poke the bubbled area a couple of times, then smooth it out with your hands.
8. Ready For a New Look? Removing is simple. Pick at an edge with your fingernail and slowly peel decal off your surface. It's just like taking down a sticker. If you stick'd outside the box and applied your graphics to a less porous surface like glass, give stick a blow-dry ( set on low heat ) to warm it up. This will release the adhesive and make it even easier to peel off.
